I have so many photos from this Bloomington Indiana Family photography session to share, and I’ve had a hard time narrowing down to just this preview. But, before I jump into sharing some of my favorite images from my time with the Leffel family, I want to share a little of the behind the scenes story to share why these photos bring my heart so much joy!

Let’s travel back in time…the early days of Katelyn Ng Photography

11 years ago my photography business also offered wedding photography. A few years in, I decided to pursue more photography education to continue to hone my craft. Attending a 2017 wedding photography workshop led by my friend and fellow Grace College alumni Arielle Peters changed the trajectory of my business and really launched me forward into narrowing my focus, and challenged me to follow my love of motherhood, maternity, family, and newborn photography.

However, my attendance at that workshop did more than just inspire me. The workshop connect me to several Arielle Peters workshop alumni. A few of these ladies became my friends and with whom I’ve stayed in contact for years!

In any industry, there is just something so special about having friends and colleagues who really understand you and “get” your vision for your business and life. These types of friends are like gold. And, gratefully, I have one in my dear friend Jordan.

Jo has been a gift to me and to my family since we connected in 2019. From working alongside her during weddings, to photographing each others babies and families, she is such a sweet friend.

When she reached out this year about photographing each other’s families, it was a hearty YES from me! She no longer lives in the Indianapolis area, but we made a private lake access location in Bloomington, Indiana work for our family photo session.

Also a mom of four. I love being able to watch her love on her four boys. Not only is she an encouraging friend who inspires me to be a better parent, she’s encouraged me my relationship with Jesus Christ, and for that I’ll always be grateful.

There are so many tender moments that catch at my heart. Jo, what a beautiful family you have!
