A Summer Family Photography Field Session

Family photos can be sweet, wild, and lots of fun!

As a mama to three little boys myself, it is always so fun to photograph families with sweet, wild, little boys! When choosing a location for family photos it is really important to think about your little ones. As a Greenwood, Indiana family photographer, I’m a firm believer that your children’s photos should feel just like that – childhood!

That means we we have tickle fights, run, snuggle, race, play “ring around the rosie” and all sorts of games to keep everyone engaged and involved. Family photos should NOT feel like a major chore! Having a spot where they can run, play and have fun is key!

The Field: My favorite for family photos as a Greenwood Indiana Family Photographer

The south side of Indianapolis has lots of lovely parks. However, after over a decade as a photographer, I have to say I’m a bit picky when it comes to locations. This field in Franklin, Indiana is a top favorite of mine as a Greenwood Indiana family photographer.

The glowy light, and the shade produced by the marvelous tree line make for the most beautiful sessions! This spots gives you a wide open feel for family photos while being conveniently close to Greenwood, Indiana. Clients, if you’re looking for a south side location that is within a 30 minute drive (or less) I recommend this spot!

This was my second time photographing the Rincker family and their boys have grown so much! It’s such an honor when families return for updated family photos year after year. These three boys are so obviously loved by their mama and daddy. One of my favorite parts of the session was how relaxed mom and dad were. They took all of the silly boy giggles and energy in stride (obviously they are pros!). These little guys had space and time to have their portraits taken, but also have a lot of fun in the process.
