A Summer Maternity Photo Session at Monroe Lake in Bloomington, Indiana

Last weekend I met up with Kayla, Jared and their little girl, Brynn, for their maternity photos in Bloomington Indiana. It really is an incredible honor when another photographer chooses you to photograph their family!

I previously photographed Kayla and Jared’s maternity photos when they were expecting Brynn and that was definitely a much colder experience! Ha! Instead of Christmas lights and icy temps, we were walking through July heat and humidity next to a serene lake! The Boyll’s are expecting a little boy and I’m over the moon to have had the privilege of photographing their little family again!

A Serene Lakeside Maternity Session

As we were planning their maternity photos, Kayla mentioned she was interested in a coastal type of vibe, but wasn’t sure it was possible. While Indiana doesn’t have a lot of beach front, a solution dawned on me and we got to work to see if we could make it happen.

Jared and Kayla are from just over the Illinois border, and met me in Bloomington, Indiana for their maternity photos. We were able to use a private beachfront area of Monroe Lake, and it made for an absolutely beautiful backdrop! Looking at these I feel like I’m in a completely different state!

Brynn was simply adorable and she was so excited about the water. She played and snuggled with her mama and daddy and it was so fun to see how much she’s grown. I absolutely love getting to photograph families throughout the years. It seems like just a short time since I photographed Brynn’s newborn session!

Summer Maternity Photos Outfit Inspiration

Kayla was absolutely stunning in her white dress, and looked flawless despite the heat! I loved that she and Brynn matched by both wearing white dresses. Jared’s blue shirt added the perfect amount of blue and the combination of colors complimented the location’s summery, lake feel.

I’m so excited to share a glimpse into the Boyll’s Bloomington, Indiana maternity photos here on the blog! I can’t wait to meet their baby boy in just a couple of months!
